Ceres Hydrogen
We have established a leading technology position in fuel cells that is being demonstrated in multiple applications and geographies with established global partners. Now using the same architecture, we are developing our Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cell (SOEC) technology. This technology provides a pathway to produce highly efficient, green hydrogen, at a cost at which electrolysis becomes competitive with blue and grey hydrogen produced using fossil fuels.
Our technology
- In a market where the requirement for hydrogen is predicted to double each decade between 2030 and 2050, Ceres is well-positioned to be a technology leader in this field.
- Solid oxide, electrolysers such as Ceres’ produce hydrogen at efficiencies around 20% greater than other technologies, in the range for mid 80s – 90% efficiency where it is possible to make use of waste heat in industrial processes to drive this high efficiency.
- Utilising the same core technology as our SOFCs, Ceres is developing a differentiated technology offering for hydrogen, which is also compatible with green e-fuel production.
- The technology is modular and scalable and can be integrated with low temperature waste heat streams from upstream or downstream processes. Robust in design, the technology is adaptable to on/off cycles, so well suited to varying electrical power availability.
