Ceres welcomes Delta Electronics' investment in factory site for solid oxide hydrogen energy solutions
Ceres’ manufacturing licensee Delta Electronics Inc (Delta), a global leader in power management and smart green solutions, has recently announced the purchase of land and factory facilities in Taiwan for approximately NT$6.95 billion, expected to be partly focused on the large-scale manufacturing of hydrogen energy solutions, based on Ceres’ solid oxide technology, for data centre power, microgrid, and other energy infrastructure applications.
This is a major milestone in the strategic partnership between Ceres and Delta. Since the signing of the licensing agreement in January 2024, Delta has moved at pace and with clear commitment to develop large-scale manufacturing based on Ceres’ technology. Delta’s investment into a site for large-scale manufacturing means that we are a major step closer to being able to deliver these in volume.
Delta’s newly-acquired factory is also planned for the development, testing, and manufacturing of smart green solutions for ICT and energy infrastructure. Large-scale production of hydrogen energy solutions in this facility is expected to follow a pilot production phase at Delta’s Tainan II plant. In 2024, Delta also established a ‘Net-zero Science Laboratory’ at its Tainan manufacturing complex to develop cutting-edge zero-carbon technologies to enrich its own R&D capabilities in related application fields, such as hydrogen energy technologies.
