Future generation reimagine a clean energy future
Ceres, a leading developer of clean energy technology, is pleased to announce that Colchester County High School for Girls has been named as the winner of the 2024 Reimagine Clean Energy Schools Competition, held yesterday at The Tallow Chandlers’ Company in London.

Now in its third year, Reimagine aims to inspire the next generation of innovators and creatives to tackle the global climate crisis and mission for net-zero. The competition, led by Ceres in collaboration with Bosch UK and STEM Learning UK, saw teams of students submit a short animation explaining an exciting and original scientific concept relevant to the energy transition.
This year nearly 40 schools from the across the UK took part and their entries were viewed by an esteemed panel of judges including Professor Dame Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge, Chair of STEM Learning UK, Eman Martin-Vignerte, Director at Robert Bosch GmbH, Gen Kobayashi, Chief Strategy Officer at Weber Shandwick, Serhii Krystiev, Lead Animator at Creative Assembly, Jonathan Oxley, CBI and Commissioner of the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission, and Ceres’ Chief Technology Officer, Caroline Hargrove.
Speaking about the competition, Caroline Hargrove CTO at Ceres said:
The quality of entries this year was higher than ever, which made choosing a winner really challenging. Huge congratulations to the three finalists and a big thank you to all the schools that participated. I would also like to thank my fellow judges from across industry and the arts and The Tallow Chandlers’ Company for all their support in making this happen.

We were once again inspired by the brilliant and varied ideas put forward by the students. Their passion for tackling climate change and commitment to delivering such impactful content around the big global challenges we face, personally gives me great hope for the future.
Entries were assessed on originality, creativity, depth of scientific research, the Einstein factor and impact. Colchester County High School for Girls emerged as the 2024 Winner, while Belfairs Academy received the Best Scientific Research Award and Varndean School scooped the Best Animation category.
