RFC Power Secures £10 Million Series A Funding and Rebrands as Certain Energy
RFC Power, the long-duration energy storage company acquired by Ceres in September 2025, has announced the successful close of a £10 million Series A funding round and will now operate under the new name, Certain Energy.
The investment will support the commercialisation of Certain Energy's manganese flow battery technology and prepare it for deployment to stabilise grids and provide power during periods of low renewables production.
The funding round was led by the British Business Bank, with participation from Centrica, Ceres, and Temasek Trust's Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health. The investment will support the scaling of Certain Energy's technology towards volume production, including the development of a grid-connected MWh-class system in India, the expansion of its UK research facilities, and the creation of a supply chain capable of supporting future commercial deployments.
